The Interfaith Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence is leading an innovative national initiative on domestic violence and guns – and we want you to be a part of it! We’ve united 500 clergy and faith-based organizations from a diverse range of traditions on a letter asking Congress to close loopholes that endanger the lives of abuse and stalking victims. Now we’re asking you to join us in a call to action.

Over half of all women killed by intimate partners were murdered with a gun. Nearly half of all intimate partner homicides were committed by a dating partner, and more than three-quarters of women killed by intimate partners were also stalked by their abuser.  Yet perpetrators convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence against a dating partner or misdemeanor stalking can still freely access firearms, despite posing a significant risk to the safety of the victim.

It’s simple: When abusers have guns, women die.

H.R. 3130, the Zero Tolerance for Domestic Abusers Act, and S. 1520, the Protecting Domestic Violence and Stalking Victims Act, would close these life-threatening loopholes.

TELL CONGRESS THAT IT’S TIME TO ACT ON LEGISLATION TO PROTECT ALL WOMEN FROM GUN VIOLENCE AT THE HANDS OF DANGEROUS ABUSERS.
