  Program Associate

 JWI is the leading Jewish organization empowering women and girls through economic literacy, community training, healthy relationships education and the proliferation of women’s leadership. JWI is currently seeking an associate to assist in the development and maintenance of its programmatic work.  The Program Department is responsible for JWI’s mission-based work and develops and implements national and community-based training, programs and resources as well as advocacy engagement tools. JWI’s newest programs include a project with USY to develop a healthy relationship curriculum, projects to enable economic security such as Life$avings®: Financial Literacy for Jewish Teens, and model training programs such as the National Alliance to End Domestic Abuse. The department seeks out funding opportunities, partnerships and collaborations that strengthen JWI’s knowledge base, visibility and reach, and works closely with the Marketing/Communications department. 

This is an exciting opportunity for a team player with excellent communication skills, a can-do attitude, knowledge of the Jewish community and interest and experience in issues affecting women and girls.   The program associate will work closely with and report to the director of the department.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Assist in development of new JWI programs by researching issues and writing content.
  • Maintain and develop program content and information for JWI’s web site.
  • Write articles for JWI’s E-newsletter and other JWI publications on the department’s work
  • Assist with preparation of program materials, grant proposals, and information for internal and external use.
  • Plan and publicize events for JWI’s Summer Series and other program department events.
  • Fulfill and track requests for information/referrals that come to the Program Department.
  • Be responsible for program department data entry and maintaining record keeping systems.
  • Maintain and update national resource and referral lists and directories; develop relationships with resource organizations.
  • Provide computer and other technical support to the program team.
  • Provide administrative assistance to Program Department

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant area.
  • Computer knowledge, including proficiency in Word, Excel, and internet navigation.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.

Senior Development Manager

JEWISH WOMEN INTERNATIONAL (JWI) is currently seeking a skilled, creative and highly energetic professional to serve as a Senior Manager for Development. 

JWI’S  DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT oversees the organization’s fundraising efforts including major donor campaigns, foundation and corporate fundraising, member giving, e-fundraising and major events. The Senior Development Manager will help guide, implement and manage the major donor programs at JWI.

Major Responsibilities of the Senior Development Manager

• Manage JWI’s development efforts in coordination with JWI’s executive director and senior management team.
• Lead JWI’s foundation and corporate giving program
• Coordinate major donor giving and lapsed donor campaign
• Oversee expanded e-fundraising activities
• Manage direct mail and targeted mail campaigns
• Provide leadership on event management/fundraising efforts
• Work with JWI staff and lay leadership to identify and solicit potential funders

Qualifications:
B.A. degree with a minimum of 5 years experience in development, excellent writing and communication skills, strong skills in donor cultivation, solicitation and stewardship, experience leading e-fundraising/web fundraising campaigns, proficiency with Raiser’s Edge fundraising software, commitment to the empowerment of Jewish women and girls and JWI’s mission, experience with event management a plus.
