DEVELOPMENT/CHAPTER & MEMBERSHIP SERVICES ASSOCIATE

THE JWI DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT is an energetic team of four that oversee all aspects of JWI’s fundraising, targeted campaigns and major events.

THE DEVELOPMENT/CHAPTER & MEMBERSHIP SERVICES ASSOCIATE will be a key member of the department team. The Development/Chapter & Membership Services Associate is responsible for JWI’s Chapter structure, servicing our members as well as administrative support to the department.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead staff for JWI Chapter Services to include:

1. Chapter Fundraising

2. Chapter/Member Outreach & Support

3. RTC & DOC Campaign

  • Lead staff for JWI Membership Services to include:

1. Milestone Certificates (monthly)

2. Membership Reports (monthly – for chapters only)

3. Dues Renewal Notices (monthly – big pushes in May and Nov.)

4. Kaddish Notices (monthly between the 16th & 20th.)

  • Provide administrative support for the Development Department
  • Maintain contact with members/donors/supporters as needed
  • Oversee college outreach for JWI’s Mother’s Day Flower Project
  • Provide administrative support for JWI’s Mother’s Day Flower Project
  • Coordinate youth initiatives for JWI’s National Library Initiative
  • Provide support as needed for JWI’s Women To Watch annual event

Relationships:

Reports to Director of Development; works with all members of development department.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Excellent computer and database skills – Raiser’s Edge 7 preferred
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of the Jewish community

DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

The Development Manager is a key member of the Development Department team. The Development Manager is responsible for major JWI fundraising campaigns as well as coordination and execution of departmental writing.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate major donor giving and lapsed donor campaign in conjunction with Director of Development
  • Lead writing efforts for Development Department
  • Oversee all E-Fundraising activities
  • Manage direct mail and targeted mail campaigns in coordination with Executive Director and Director of Development
  • Coordinate Flower Project sponsor recruitment
  • Lead Combined Federal Campaign and state giving campaigns
  • Work with key staff in development, program, and marketing to maximize and coordinate solicitation efforts  
  • Work with JWI staff and lay leadership to identify potential funders

Relationships:

This position reports to the Director of Development and works collaboratively with Development Department, Program and Marketing staff. 

Qualifications:
B.A. degree with 3-5 years experience in development arena
Excellent writing skills
Experience with:
E-fundraising (familiarity with Kintera is a plus!)
Familiarity with marketing strategies and event management a plus
Donor cultivation, solicitation and stewardship
Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
