Women's Economic Security Fund

The link between a woman’s financial independence and her personal security is simply undeniable. Some women are unable to break into the workforce. Some can’t break free of abusive relationships. JWI created Women’s Economic Security funding to help them all – by supporting programs that train women to take charge of their financial well-being.

This initiative drives our mission home in two ways: By funding JWI initiatives; and by awarding non-competitive grants to small, innovative programs, in both the faith-based and secular communities, that teach women and girls money management with an eye toward financial independence -- a key strategy in avoiding and escaping violent relationships.

Since its launch in 2000, Women's Economic Security funding has created opportunities, improved women’s shelters, and saved lives by distributing more than $250,000 to organizations and initiatives aligned with our own mission of safe homes, healthy relationships and strong women. It’s an ideal chance for JWI to meet the philanthropic interests of a new generation of donors, leveraging individual philanthropy through collaborative giving.
