Conference on Domestic Abuse

Beyond Awareness: Effecting Change, the third international conference on domestic abuse in the Jewish community, convened by Jewish Women International and partners, was a powerful gathering of over 300 Jewish and secular domestic violence service providers, advocates, survivors of abuse, social justice activists, clergy and seminary students, educators, social workers, lawyers, researchers, policy-makers, donors, funders, community volunteers - all united by their commitment to ending domestic abuse. Building on the success of our first two conferences, the 2007 event captured the diversity of Jewish communities around the world and furthered the Jewish community’s position as a global leader in ending abuse for all women and children.

This conference would not have been possible without the guidance and support of our conference chair, Joyce Rappeport, the JWI board of trustees, our Program Planning Committee and Advisory Committee.
