About the 2009 artist
Anicca Bat Adam was born in 1956 in Warsaw, Poland to Holocaust refugees. She studied flute playing and electro-acoustical composition at the Music Academy of Tel Aviv University, and after completing her degree she began to explore music, kite-making, poetry, sculpture, Chuppot, and paintings inspired by the signs and symbols of Judaica.

Anicca's work has been displayed widely in Israel, where her paintings and sculptures can be found in many public buildings and private collections. Today she studies in Northern California, where she performs with various California chamber ensembles and creates her mystical, Kaballah-inspired paintings, now found in collections throughout the world.

"My paintings are intended to be visual blessings that will inspire anyone who will BE with them. If you ask them questions, eventually they will answer. They are the expressions of my love for the beloved. May you enjoy them, and know the beloved through them. Perfect the moment by deep looking, and as time passes, you will be closer to God."
