Treatment at the Center

The Jerusalem Hills Children’s Home is internationally known for its unique approach to care, which emphasizes drug‐free treatment, intensive counseling, family involvement in the rehabilitative process, and intensive training for professional staff. The Children’s Home prides itself on one‐on‐one care that all residents receive. In addition to individualized attention, each resident has a therapy program and education plan tailored to his or her needs. The curriculum is a model for similar centers throughout the world.

The Group Home is a residential treatment center for at‐risk teen boys ages of 14 to 18. It offers an alternative to institutionalization in the psychiatric or criminal justice systems of Israel. The Group Home emphasizes independent living skills that help prepare boys for the transition to adult life. More than two‐thirds of these kids are rehabilitated and mainstreamed by the age of 18. The campus houses and treats about 100 boys and girls ages 7 to 13, with a 3‐to‐1 ratio of boys to girls.

The campus is renowned for its annual symposiums, which offer a variety of training and support programs to psychologists, social workers, and special education teachers on many different frameworks.
