JWI’s Advisory Councils are groups of highly accomplished professional Jewish women (many of whom are former Women to Watch honorees) gathered to help the next generation of women leaders find their mission and voice. Councils are formed to support and mentor members of JWI’s Young Women’s Leadership Networks. In addition to intergenerational mentoring, Council members have opportunities to network with peers both locally and nationally and serve as informal advisors to JWI.
If you are interested in joining a JWI Advisory Council, please contact COO Meredith Jacobs, [email protected] or 202-464-4803, fill out the form below.
What we do
Members of a JWI Advisory Council will:
Have the opportunity to mentor a young woman as part of JWI’s 1 on 1 Mentor Project. Mentees are members of the local Young Women’s Leadership Council and cohorts will meet once a month for a period of six months.
Be honored in a local graduation event for the current year’s mentoring pairs.
Assist the local Young Women’s Leadership Network as needed by:
- Helping to find speakers or workshop space for monthly workshops
- Serving as panelists for occasional group mentoring events
Network with other accomplished peers, both locally and nationally, who are members of JWI’s Advisory Councils
Be invited to exclusive Council member-only high-level briefings and trainings offered by JWI
Advise JWI national staff, as needed, and serve as a pipeline for future members of JWI’s National Board of Trustees
