Jewish Communal Women's Leadership Project
Claiming the Corner Office
With 75% of Jewish organizations scheduled to be looking for new top leadership in the next five years as baby boomer CEOs retire, JWI’s Jewish Communal Women’s Leadership Project is clearing the path for women to ascend to these executive positions. A select group of senior-level women seeking C-suite positions will be selected to be part of the pilot cohort in fall 2019.
Workshops will be held monthly, October through June, led by highly-accomplished professional Jewish women in finance, media, sports, and development. Many of these leaders have been honored by JWI as Women to Watch.
With topics including “How Negotiating an NBA Contract is Like Making a Fundraising Ask,” this is not your typical Jewish leadership workshop. Discussions will also focus on policies and procedures to create safe and equitable workplaces, and how to mentor the next generation of women leaders.
Additionally, members of the cohort will be divided into smaller sub-groups to read and discuss books on leadership, workplace culture, and creating gender equity. JWI is partnering with DRG Search, Moment magazine, and Richard Levin & Associates, giving participants access to hiring opportunities, bylines, and leadership coaches.
Cost to participate, including books and materials: $650. Applications are due by September 27, 2019.
This project is funded in part by the Hadassah Foundation, and developed in partnership with The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington, DRG Search, Moment magazine, and Richard Levin & Associates
