Part Two - Building a Safe Foundation for Wellness and Healing: A Two-Part Series for People Working with Trauma-Survivors

When working with people who have experienced trauma, it becomes critical to learn how to take care of ourselves. This training - led by trauma-informed teacher Halli Faulkner - will teach us some simple self-care practices that can keep us grounded when working with clients. We will also learn about the neurobiology of trauma and the different tools we can use to take care of both ourselves and our clients when we feel triggered or off-balance. Ultimately, this training will allow us to become more self-aware, centered, and supported in our work.

This two-part series will start in April - in honor of Sexual Assault and Awareness Month and everyone serving survivors - and we will have one session per month in April and May.

Presenter: Halli Jastaran Faulkner - Founder & Executive Director of Porchlight Wellness

Halli Faulkner serves as the Founding Executive Director of Porchlight Wellness, a nonprofit organization that provides healing yoga workshops for women who have experienced sexual trauma and teaches people how to create safe, healing, and welcoming spaces for survivors. As a survivor herself, Halli has worked with women across the country and has heavily relied on both yoga and meditation to support her own healing. Halli earned her Master’s degree in education from Loyola Marymount University and law degree from The George Washington University Law School. In her free time, Halli loves to swim and spend time with her wife and two-year-old daughter. To learn more about Halli, you can check out her online journal.
