More than 45,000 women and children spend each Mother’s Day in domestic violence shelters.
Each year JWI's Flower Project initiative sends bouquets of flowers and financial literacy resources to 200 shelters across the U.S. on Mother’s Day. Join this event, hosted by the San Francisco Young Women’s Leadership Network to help us raise awareness for JWI’s Flower Project this year.

We’ll start with a crafting activity, so grab any household items or craft supplies (think paints, sketchbook, clip art, ribbon, markers, etc.) and join us as we each create our own flower bouquets. While crafting, we’ll hear from JWI staff, including CEO Meredith Jacobs, Senior Advocacy and Policy Manager, Dorian Karp, and Ariella Neckritz, Senior Manager of Prevention Programs about domestic violence, domestic violence in the time of coronavirus, and the impact that the Flower Project has on women in shelters across the United States.

We will then combine our bouquets to create a floral community mosaic e-card which we will virtually send to women in domestic violence shelters this Mother’s Day.

This event will start at 1 p.m. PDT/4 p.m. EDT. and is open and free to all members of our Young Women’s Leadership Network. Please consider supporting JWI’s Flower Project through a donation or by sending paper or e-cards.
