Ready to make a difference?

Here are three ways to get started:

1. Thank the Biden Administration for their work to secure the release of the hostages!

After being held hostage by Hamas for seven weeks, fifty Israeli women and children are being freed in exchange for Palestinian prisoners being held in Israeli jails and a pause in fighting, with fuel trucks entering Gaza. According to reports, this is expected to be the first phase of hostage release, with more hostages to be released in the future. Read more about how this agreement was reached here. President Biden and his Administration have been working tirelessly to secure the release of the Israeli hostages. 2. Support supplemental funding for WIC!

Congress passed a stop-gap funding bill to prevent a government shutdown, but the bill failed to include critical supplemental funding for the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC). WIC is a critical source of food assistance for low-income pregnant, breastfeeding, and post-partum women; infants; and children up to the age of five. Without additional funding, WIC may not be able to provide assistance to everyone who needs it. Retweet this post by the Center on Budget Policy Priorities to raise awareness!

3. Urge your members of Congress to co-sponsor the Lori Jackson-Nicolette Elias Domestic Violence Survivor Protection Act!

Senators Blumenthal and Wyden and Representative Himes have introduced Lori Jackson-Nicolette Elias Domestic Violence Survivor Protection Act. This bill closes loopholes that allow dating abusers subject to domestic violence protective orders and both dating and spousal abusers subject to ex parte domestic violence protective orders to legally possess firearms under federal law. It also authorized a grant program to develop and implement policies and protocols to take guns away from abusers who are legally prohibited from having them.
