San Diego Financial Fitness Cohort – Fall 2023

  • HoyleCohen Wealth Management 350 Camino De La Reina San Diego, CA, 92108 United States (map)

Prioritize your financial well-being by joining one of JWI’s four-part Financial Fitness cohorts!

Alongside other San Diego-area women in their 20s and 30s, you'll build financial confidence, learn new skills, AND connect with new friends.

Each session kicks off with a full-group dinner and drinks, and then we split into two smaller groups – based on your chosen track* – for an interactive financial literacy workshop facilitated by experts April Schultz and Emily Collyns (bios below). We will be meet at HoyleCohen in Mission Valley. These four sessions will build on each other and set you up for success!

*Choose from one of these two Financial Fitness tracks:

Track 1: Becoming a Budgeting Boss

Dates: Tues, Sept. 12th | Thurs, Sept. 14th | Tues, Oct. 17th | Thurs, Oct. 19th | 6:30-8:30 p.m. PST

Facilitator: Emily Collyns, JWI Director of Financial Empowerment

During these four sessions, you'll dig into where your money is going currently, set short and long term financial goals, create a personalized budget, AND learn all the best tips to actually stick to it for years to come. If you’ve created a budget in the past that you don’t really use, or if you’ve never created one, this cohort is for you!

Track 2: Investing Deep Dive

People always tell you to invest, but never say how or where. During these 4 sessions, you will develop a strong understanding of investing strategies and tools, explore tools to automate, learn about different financial planning services, and create your own action plan in order to move forward with confidence and increase your long-term wealth generation.

What do past participants say?

“This program helped me remove a lot of shame and guilt I have felt in the past around spending money on "non essentials." It also allowed a safe space to discuss finances, helping me to feel more comfortable having conversations about money in other areas of my life, and provided ways to make budgeting seem more accessible and simple so it is realistic for me to continue with it long-term.”

“This cohort has given me the confidence to actually think about [my finances] instead of just feeling overwhelmed and shut down”

“This helped me so much with my finances. I am finally on a budget and on such great track to work my way out of debt.”

“I’ve cut my expenses down practically in half. I realized I was spending way more than I make a month and as much as I wanted to participate in certain expenses, I just can’t. So now I am paying my debt off and it feels so amazing! And also [I learned how to] control my spending!”

“I learned how to budget like a boss, how to be more aware and track my spending, how fast things add up, and how much my expenses are. I realize I have to live within my means until I decide to make more money. Very valuable lessons and so much awareness in this program!”

“[As a result of this program}, I am now actively aware of how much I have spent already, which helps me feel better about making future spending decisions. I have also developed a better plan for how much money I would like to save each month, which has started to alleviate some stress.”

How do I choose which cohort to take part in?
