Jewish communal leaders are in a unique position to create communities that center survivors, creating a web of light for survivors on their journey to healing. 

Jewish Women International’s groundbreaking “Domestic Violence in the Jewish Community: A Needs Assessment” found that Jewish domestic violence survivors felt disbelieved, shunned by, and disconnected from their Jewish communities.

In response to this sobering finding, JWI launched Here for You, a training program that brings local leaders together to establish a supportive community for survivors and their children through education, awareness, and actionable measures. In the over 50 Here for You communities across the country, coordinated efforts ensure that survivors can seek help from any Jewish communal leader, knowing they will be directed to the appropriate resources and services.

Our Here for You trainings empower organizations and communities to put the safety and well-being of survivors and their children at the forefront of their work. Participants also receive valuable resources and professional support to help them foster safety and resilience for survivors and children exposed to domestic violence in their homes.
