Webinar: The past, present, and future of VAWA
The Interfaith Coalition is hosting a webinar where organizations and individuals representing a variety of faith traditions can come together to learn about and discuss the importance of the Violence Against Women Act. The webinar will explore VAWA’s successes, its current state of play, and what critical enhancements survivors need as we move forward.
Rev. Ramelia Williams is passionate about creating environments for experiencing the compassion, mercy and justice of God through the Church. She currently lives this out in her role as the Director of Ministry Initiatives for the Love Mercy Do Justice mission priority of the Evangelical Covenant Church. Rev. Ramelia earned a Master of Divinity and Certificate in Spiritual Direction from North Park Theological Seminary. At the Seminary, she periodically serves as an adjunct professor and serves on a team of Spiritual Directors who facilitate spiritual formation groups for students.
Virginia Davis is the Senior Advisor and Director of Justice and International Policy for the National Congress of American Indians (NCAI) where she works on public safety, criminal justice, and human rights issues.
Rachel Graber is the director of public policy at National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV), amplifying the voices of victims, survivors and advocates in the nation’s capital.
Lisalyn R. Jacobs is the CEO, of Just Solutions: Bringing in justice to counteract injustice, advising clients on a variety of issues including campus sexual assault, workplace and other economic protections for victims of domestic and sexual violence, and stalking, racial equity, criminal justice and policing reform, and the intersections of two or more of these issues.
Dorian Karp serves as the senior advocacy and policy manager at Jewish Women International (JWI), a leading organization working to end gender-based violence, gun violence, and gender inequality.
The Interfaith Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence is composed of over 40 faith organizations that come together to advocate for national legislation and public policies that protect all people from domestic and sexual violence, with particular concern for women and families.
