321ACTION: Mifepristone , Gun violence + democracy, #SexualAssaultAwarenessMonth

Ready to make a difference?

Here are three ways to get started:

1. Learn more about the rulings on mifepristone

In an unprecedented – and deeply harmful decision, a single federal judge in Texas blocked the FDA’s approval of mifepristone, the most common drug used for medication abortion and miscarriage care. This ruling, if upheld, will impact abortion access even in states that have protected abortion access.

Another judge in Washington state has issued a contrary opinion, likely fast tracking a decision by the Supreme Court.

Join a briefing hosted by NCJW on Tuesday, April 11th at 2 p.m. ET to learn from doctors and experts about the possible impact of the Texas decision on abortion access.

2. Demand gun reform and protect our democracy

Following the most recent mass shooting at an elementary school in Tennessee, thousands of people across the country have protested against #GenerationLockdown, including 3 members of the Tennessee House of Representatives. And, instead of swiftly passing gun violence prevention legislation, the Republican majority voted to oust the two Black lawmakers  (while sparing the white Rep.)

All Americans must stand up for our democracy and also demand change to keep us safe.

Demand gun reform to protect our democracy and save lives

3. Support students during #SexualAssaultAwarenessMonth

Every student should be able to pursue their civil right to education free from violence and harassment, but 1 in 5 women are sexually assaulted while in college.

This Sexual Assault Awareness Month, join a training hosted by colleagues at Know Your IX – offered April 11th, 18th, 19th, 20th, 25th, 26th, and 27th at 7 p.m. ET on Zoom – to better understand the history, status, and future of Title IX (legislation intended to prohibit sex based discrimination in school).
