JWI is holding a four-part Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion training series – the next meeting is this Wednesday!

...and here's what you can do this week to keep the momentum going:
3. The lives and livelihoods of millions of Americans are at stake in this election.
In a nutshell: Tomorrow will mark 100 years since women were granted the right to vote. This year we must ensure that ALL women are able to exercise their voting rights in this important election.

2. As schools across our country are grappling with the pandemic, they are being forced to alter their sexual assault and sexual harassment policies to roll back protections for survivors.
In a nutshell: The Administration’s Title IX rule change (that went into effect last week) requires schools to ignore most violence impacting students that occurs off-campus, requires live hearings and direct cross-examination of survivors and perpetrators, and allows for needless delays in investigations.
Take action: Sign KnowYourIX’s petition to ask your alma mater to use its discretion to create the safest and fairest policies possible under the Final Rule.
1. Though Congress is now on recess, relief for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault cannot wait.
In a nutshell: Since intimate partner and sexual violence are on the rise amidst the pandemic, Congress must allocate funding for survivors of sexual assault, community-based culturally-specific organizations serving survivors in communities of color, and tribal victim service programs.
Take action: Senators are now home for state work periods to hear from constituents, so speak up! Urge your senators to prioritize funding for gender-based violence survivors in the next COVID-19 relief package.
