A Birthday Celebration with a Purpose

Every year, my birthday gives me a chance to stop and think about what I’m grateful for. This year, one thing I keep coming back to is how lucky I feel to do work that I truly believe in.

For the past 14 months, I’ve had the privilege of serving as Chief Development Officer at Jewish Women International (JWI). And the more I see, the more deeply I believe in the incredible impact this organization is having.

I’ve seen up close how JWI supports survivors of domestic violence, strengthens the communities and systems around them, and empowers young women with the confidence, skills and opportunities to find their voices and become leaders. What strikes me most is the breadth of the impact. It’s about helping someone feel safe today, while also working to create a world where women and girls are safer, stronger and more empowered tomorrow.

I’m incredibly proud to be part of this work and to help lead the philanthropic efforts that make it possible. So this year, I’m asking for something a little different for my birthday.

I don’t really need more stuff (although I’m definitely not saying I don’t have a few things on my wish list 😉). Instead, if you’d like to celebrate with me, I’d love for you to consider making a gift to JWI.

No pressure. No guilt. Just an invitation to help me make my birthday mean a little more.

And honestly, knowing that my birthday helped another woman or girl feel safer, stronger or more empowered would be a pretty amazing gift.

Thank you for celebrating with me—and for helping me celebrate in a way that really means something.

All my love, Sara
