Webinar Overview

This webinar will explore new ways to use the power and purpose of storytelling in social movements. Survivors from across the globe have been using their names, faces, and stories in unprecedented ways to change legal and social responses to gender-based violence and other injustices or forms of oppression. How do we make the most of, and build on, this moment? How can we effectively use our testimonies to call the world to not only compassion but – more importantly – measurable political action? And what lessons can we learn from history’s most effective storytellers?

Speaker

Anne K. Ream is the founder of The Voices and Faces Project, a global testimonial writing program for survivors of gender-based violence and other human rights violations; the co-founder of World Without Exploitation, the national coalition to end human trafficking; and the author of Lived Through This, a critically praised memoir that documents Anne’s multi-country journey listening to sexual violence and trafficking survivors.
