Join JWI for a virtual discussion with Advocacy and Policy Director Dorian Karp on women’s rights policy and legislation.

Whether you're plugged in and getting daily news alerts, or you're not sure what advocacy is, this event is for you! We will dive into understanding policy and advocacy, highlight current policies and legislation impacting women’s rights, give you tools to take action in your community, and discuss why this all matters.

Dorian Karp, JWI’s Advocacy and Policy Director, serves to promote policies that support, protect, and empower women and girls through coalition building, Hill advocacy, and weekly communication to the field. She convenes JWI’s Interfaith Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence, co-chairs Faiths United to Prevent Gun Violence, and co-leads the Outreach Committee of the National Task Force to End Sexual and Domestic Violence. Before moving to the D.C. metro area, she spent nearly a decade working in state government, the nonprofit sector, and political campaigns. Dorian received her Masters in Public Administration from the University of South Florida in 2016. Dorian holds a BA from Barnard College at Columbia University. She and her husband reside in Silver Spring, Md., with their daughter, Ellie, and dog, Golda. 


 

JWI’s annual series of summer breakfast roundtables gathers D.C. interns and young professionals to discuss current issues unique to young women, and ways they can get involved and make a difference. This year, sessions will be held over Zoom to include as many college-aged women as possible!
