"Yes She Can" Book Talk: Inspiring Stories of Young Women from the Obama White House

Join JWI’s D.C. Network, The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington, Sixth & I, and Taylor Lustig, one of the authors of the newly published book Yes She Can, for an intimate conversation. Yes She Can is an anthology of inspiring stories contributed by ten young women who were staffers in the Obama White House. Our guest speaker will share with us stories of her successes and challenges while taking charge and creating change in the U.S. government.

Light food and drink will be served. Kosher dietary laws observed.

Taylor Lustig is the manager of government and external affairs at PepsiCo. She was formerly a policy advisor for the White House Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships part of the Domestic Policy Council under the Obama Administration.

Andrea R. Flores is currently an attorney in Washington, DC. She served as a policy assistant for immigration policy and rural affairs in the Domestic Policy Council under the Obama Administration.

Nita Contreras is currently a special advisor for strategic environmental policy to the CEO at Enviva. She was formerly assistant staff secretary in the Obama Administration.

Kalisha Dessources Figures is currently a PhD student in sociology at Yale University and the director of the National Philanthropic Collaborative of Young Women’s Initiatives.  She was a policy advisor to the White House Council on Women and Girls in the Obama Administration.
